Un museo para toda la ciudad

El Museo de Aguas de Alicante abierto desde febrero de 2009, surge como fruto de una apuesta empresarial en el 110º Aniversario de Aguas de Alicante conjuntamente con el Ayuntamiento de la ciudad para desarrollar un espacio para fomentar el conocimiento, respeto y la importancia del agua en el día a día de la población.

Desde su inauguración más de 230.000 personas ya han visitado el enclave del Museo de Aguas de Alicante; un ente vivo en constante renovación de contenidos que adapta su temática y recursos a las necesidades de cada momento para convertir su visita en una experiencia enriquecedora para sus visitantes. La entrada es gratuita.

Ground floor: History

On this floor, contents about settlements and cultures reveal the evolution of water techniques and uses and water catchment and distribution methods. Discover the history of Alicante's water supply contract.

Floor 1: Have fun with water

This is a totally educational area that is intuitive and interactive. Games and new technologies illustrate the states of water, how water reaches our homes, and the complete water cycle. In addition, there is a cinema room for projecting material relating to the water resource.

Floor 2: Projects and sustainable development

There are two rooms on this floor. In the first, find out about Aguas de Alicante's main projects and works in recent years. In the second, discover Aguas de Alicante's actions to achieve sustainable development.

The Wells of Garrigós

Excavated out of rock in the nineteenth century, this system of wells can hold over 800,000 litres. They were designed to collect and store rainwater for subsequent distribution. The feeling of being immersed in a well makes a visit an unforgettable experience.

Museum surroundings

The Museo de Aguas de Alicante is located in an emblematic area of the city: the Old Town. It is in the San Antón neighbourhood on the slope of Mount Benacantil, a symbol of Alicante.

Housed in a new building next to the Wells of Garrigós and the pedestrian entrance to Ereta Park, the museum provides a comprehensive summary of the history of water in Alicante and unique panoramic views that are enviable for the lively, colourful surrounding streets and the reflections of the Mediterranean Sea.

CASTILLO DE SANTA BÁRBARA — SANTA BÁRBARA CASTLE

Above the slopes of Mount Benacantil, at 166 metres above sea level, is Alicante's most emblematic monument. It is a place with incredible views; perfect for discovering the history and evolution of the city and that of the fortress.

CASCO ANTIGUO — OLD TOWN

The city's Old Town is made up of many sites that can be visited during a day on foot. You can walk from the Co-Cathedral of San Nicolás, the Santa Cruz neighbourhood and the San Roque Chapel to the Plaza del Mar and Calle Labradores, stopping at one of the many bar terraces on the way.

BARRIO SAN ANTÓN — SAN ANTÓN NEIGHBOURHOOD

One of Alicante's most representative neighbourhoods is the site of the Santa Bárbara Castle, Mount Benacantil, Alicante's bullring and the Las Cigarreras culture centre (in a former tobacco company).

PARQUE DE LA ERETA — ERETA PARK

Ereta Park is in the historical centre of Alicante, on the slopes of Mount Benacantil. It is one of the newest parks in Alicante, surrounded by nature, wild flowers and native birds. Visitors can enjoy the best views of the entire city.

A Museum accessible to all people

The Aguas de Alicante Museum and Pozos de Garrigós have the Accessible Tourism distinction awarded by the State Representative Platform for People with Physical Disabilities (PREDIF), together with Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, within the framework of the actions of the Accessible Tourism Program of the Comunitat Valenciana 2021-2025, for working to improve the accessibility of its facilities and services.

Para acceder al Museo es obligatorio cumplir con las medidas sanitarias en vigor

Debido a las limitaciones de aforo durante la celebración de eventos el Museo no será visitable
Visitas guiadas

Existe la posibilidad de realizar visitas guiadas gratuitas para colegios, colectivos, asociaciones o grupos organizados.

La visita guiada se inicia desde la puerta del Ayuntamiento de Alicante.
